Mr. Pike was named Director in late November of 2021 and he is looking forward to continuing a standard of excellence here at Southeast Guilford.

During his undergraduate studies at Appalachian State, Mr. Pike studied Saxophone under Dr. Scott Kallestad and Mr. Rodney Berry. He also studied band conducting under Dr. John Ross, Director of Bands, and concert and marching band methods under Dr. Scott Tobias, former ASU Associate Director of Bands and current Director of Bands at West Virginia University. He was a member of the saxophone sections for the ASU Marching Mountaineers, "North Carolina's Band of Distinction," the ASU Wind Ensemble, ASU Symphonic Band, ASU Concert Band, and ASU Jazz Ensemble and received the marching band's outstanding senior award. Mr. Pike completed his Student Teaching at West Forsyth High School in Clemmons, NC under the direction of Mr. Jim Kirkpatrick and Mr. Phil Spencer and graduated in 2011.

Mr. Pike began his career in education at Huntingtowne Farms Elementary and Cotswold Elementary in Charlotte, North Carolina in 2013. He taught Elementary General Music at both schools and presented Fall and Spring performances. In 2015, Mr. Pike was named the Director of Bands at Reidsville High School. During his time at RHS, he added auxiliary percussion and color guard to the marching band and led them to compete successfully in several band festivals around the area. He also started a parent-led and involved Band Booster club and expanded the program to include Jazz Band and IB Music.

Mr. Pike has led woodwind and percussion clinics at various schools upon request and continues to play saxophone in ensembles such as the Piedmont Wind Symphony and the Greensboro Concert Band. He also plays saxophone and guitar for the group Watchtower, a Winston-Salem based Dave Matthews Tribute Band. He currently lives in Germanton, North Carolina and enjoys camping, hiking, playing guitar, and spending time with his wife, Emily, and with his family outside of school.
